Daily Happiness - 12/26/2010

I am thankful that due to the holiday and my usual day off I got two days off from work in a row, just in time for my cold to get worse. I hope tomorrow it will be better :-) Also I got to spend more time with my hubby and my kitty cat.

Today's Happiness: Acadia-Rose asking me to sing her a song, and when I asked her what song, she said, "Today." This is the song I've been singing to her literally since within hours of her birth, and today's the first time she requested it.

It's Friday. Acadia-Rose let me leave her at school this morning without crying for the first time in weeks. Taking Acadia-Rose to the Trick-or-Treat Street at the Children's Museum after work. New life coming into the world. Finishing the project at work I've been working on for the last 2 weeks.

My Happiness for today:

1. Got to take my daily walk with Slade...he was unexpectedly on post from the field and had enough time to take my walk with me.

2. Got stood up by a client yesterday (no, that's not the good part, Silly)...she saw me today and was apologetic (still not the good part...in the Army it's Mission first...so I totally understand)...I called her when I got back to the office to set up an appointment. I can't see her until 1 November due to her schedule and mine. I offered to get her in with another counselor today and she said, "No, that's okay, I'd want to talk with you!" :) (That's the good part!!)

Today is pregnancy and infant loss awareness day. Please light a candle at 7pm your local time for all the babies gone too soon. Remembering Alyssa and Asha and all the other angels.

Today's happiness is that I DO HAVE MY RAINBOW, Acadia-Rose, to light up my days (and watching her try to put her nightgown on Griz this morning).

Today's happiness is seeing how many of my facebook friends are now starting their day by announcing what their daily happiness is. Even if they don't post it on here, it still makes me smile, and I'm glad my idea is contagious!

Today's happiness was feeling much better than I have in the last few days, and hugs from my daughter.

Three more days...

Today, happiness was largely found in completing massive amounts of paperwork and becoming fully aware that after today I have three more days of casework at Boulder County before I return to clinical work.

My happiness for the day is allowing myself to take another sick day because I need it rather than giving into my workaholic tendencies.

A weekend of happiness

My Happiness emerged this weekend, Saturday when I took a day for me to relax and stop the stress...staying in, cleaning up my apt, and watching movies. Today, Sunday, my happiness comes from cleaning out my car, going in for a 70 minute spa massage, and seeing an old college friend Andrew, who I haven't seen in over four years.

Getting out in the sunshine for a while this afternoon, as the temperatures in Central Florida become a bit more bearable...even though I was doing yard work! :-)

My meeting taking about an hour and a half less than I thought it would.

My happiness for the day is being able to do more reps for a new core workout than I thought was going to be possible. And being willing to get up early enough to do it before work.

Getting a year's family membership to the Botanic Gardens for $20 thanks to a half off groupon and $20 in Groupon bucks. Oh, and the fact that the dogs somehow managed to avoid being sprayed  by that skunk last night.

Scheduling a 70 minute prime massage at an exclusive spa for this Sunday that will be reimbursed through my pretax plan given my bum shoulder is my happiness for the day. ahhh, relaxation- here I come!

My happiness for this morning was discovering that I can effectively find a misplaced cell phone by calling it with Skype. Technology for the win. : )
